Why does it hurt so much when we are deprived of someone’s love? Whether it is done by a significant other, a spouse, a parent, a child, a sibling or a friend! Whether it is done only for a minute, or for months or years.
The only logical reason that explains this is that what we call love is actually an energy we need. In fact the only other things we respond to the same way, feel the same pain of deprivation, is when we are deprived of air, food, and water. These 3 have life-sustaining energies – using our logic again has us conclude that love (loving energy) is also a life sustaining energy.

“Loving At Will” – Healing Adult Child-Parent Relationships
In 2007, we started a 2-year study to see whether or not unconditional love could take on the hardship of broken child/parent relationships—even when those children are already adults. Our goals came from our Continuum Theory of human development. This meant that we utilized awareness, vision setting, communication, and the added unique dose of unconditional love. Working with adult children meant that we were testing our theory against what is usually years of brokenness, resentment, and miscommunication. Perhaps some of our findings will help you.
